TEMUKA TOWN BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the above w *& held last night. Present-Messrs J. Blyth (chairman), W. Storey, P. Ooira, J. W. Miles, and G. Mason. CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence was read as follows r— _ From Mr E. Haynes, requesting that his name be removed from the roll in respect of section 355, and that of Mr R. Pinckney inserted. —Agreed to. From Messrs Perry, Perry, & Kianerney, relative to an alleged nuisance upon sections occupied by Messrs Ayson & Watt and Beri.—Consideration deferred. From the Audit Office, stating that certain expenditure previously disallowed would in future be admitted if incurred under the provisions of the Local Bodies' Revenues Act. From the Wairarapa County Council, relative to the system of local taxation.— Consideration deferred, as the questions involved did not interest the board, overseer's report. The overseer reported as follows : Work suggested had been carried out and notices given to owners of property relative to nuisances, contract for foctpath had been carried out, pipes in Thomas street had been supplied, by adjoining occupiers with one exception. A shed of dead gorse complained of had not been removed. Tenders had been invited for asphalt works. TENDERS. The following tenders were considered : Asphalting footpath, Contract No. 50; —M. Flaherty, Is (id per super, yard, total £(sl 17s (id; H. Monohan, ]s s£d per super, yard, total £(SO 3a on the motion of Mr Storey, seconded by Mr Miles. THE BRICKHOUSE. Some discussion took place relative to the eld lu-iek house on Main South Road. The clerk read correspondence in refenrce to the same, and stated that the owner had called tenders for the removal or purchase of same. Mr Mason moved—"Thatformalnoticebe cent to Mr Pitman that unless he carries .out ihe request of the board previously forwarded staps wonld be taken to enforce same." Seconded by Mr Ooira and carried. It was agreed that legajL advice be taken in connection with the same if necessary. ACCOUNTS. Accounts to fcho amount of SLU 7s 5d were passed for payment .and the meeting terminated,
