The English wheat market is changing a little for the worse. The Continental is dull and the American depressed. A cargo of wheat, per Carnarvon Castle, from Timaru, has been sold at 26s 3d.
Mr Weddell attributes the reduced demand for frozen meat to the miners’ strike. Mr Black, of Queensland, advises the establishment of a direct meat trade between the colonies and Cardiff. Sydney, Oct. 24.
Buyers held aloof at the wool sales, not agreeing to the conditions laid down after the recent dispute. The sales have been suspended pending a settlement.
