Sad Boating Fatality. A very lamentable boating disaster in the upper part of Waitemata,' Auckland, resulted in the drowning of five personß, three of them women. A party, Mrs Ann Baillie, her daughter, her son James, and a friend named Mrs Herd, belonging to Eemuera, left Hobsonville for Whau creek in a boat A strong South breeze was blowing at the time, and the boat capsized. Mrs Baillie's other son, John, went to their rescue, but he disappeared, and it is believed he also was drowned. The boat was found bottom upwards. Mrs Herd was a friend of the family oa a visit to Hobsonville.
