"fHE Public Trust efface of ?3eii) ZeaDand is a Government institution to afford, at low rates Of commission, a secure and convenient recourse for those who, desirous of forming trusts in the colony, cannot satisfactorily appoint private trustees or executors, and lor persons unable or unwilling to undertake or continue the administration'of the trusts accepted by or imposed upon them. The Public Trust Office, constituted by " The Public Trust Office Act, 1872," has been sinoe much enlarged in its functions by amending Acts, to nieet growing requirements. The Amendment Act of 1891 facilitates administration, authorises prompt distribution, provides absolute security against loss to estates from investments at the discretion of the Public Trustee, and insures the regular payment of the interest. The Security and Fidelity of the Pub. lie Trustee's administration must bo considered of the utmost importance ,to every person contemplating the appointment of a trustee. The colony guarantees the fidelity of the administration, and Guarantees also the Integrity of the Capital Funds invested at the option of the Public Trustee. The Colony Guarantees also, on the capital funds arising for investment out of the properties placed in the Public Trust Office, a common rate of interest, to be paid quarterly, Free of all charges of the Public Trust Office. The valtio of Mils guarantee is in the Guarantee of the Colony against loss from investments in bad or insufficient securities, and against loss from delay in investment, and for the regular and "iHuiotnal payment of UlO iulfii-OMt, /w« af all ehunies of the Public 'l'miat (ijQw, In the appointment of Trustees thero must always be serious concern as to the security of the Capital funds; and the larger the capital funds tlio greater must be the concern for security, and Hie loss for a hiflh rate of intorafit. The PmI?I'0 Trus.te<s cannot die, cannot leave the colony, cannot become distmaliflecl, or involved: in private difficulties; and cannot be distrusted. In privale trusteeships, death and absence render necessary numerous and expensivo deeds nut, required by PuVilio Trustee s administnition, which has, bosidn*, tlio allien solicitor's advice without expense to tlio ■ estates.
