MATABELELAND.

Capetown, Oct. 7. King Lobenguela is directing a Matabele attack. The Imperial forces stationed at the Maclousti river are protecting the Kliama country. The Khamas will assist the British. The Imperial police have occupied Tati, on the border of the Khama country and Matabeleland. Sir Henry Loch, Governor of Cape Colony, considers that, the Matabele are trying to force on a war.

News is received that the Matabele attacked a patrol in Bechuan aland but dispersed when the latter fired on them. The entire strength of the chartered company’s forces at Fort Victoria (some 800 men) is advancing on the Matabele frontier.
