Local Industky. —We have received from Mr J. A. McCaskill a sample of homemade marmalade of a really excellent quality. It is undoubtedly, the best marmalade we have tasted, and, as Mr McCaskill's prices are reasonable, we have no doubt he will get a ready gale for it. The Central Amateur Cycling Club. —This club's first run took place on Thursday afternoon last. About 20 odd cyclists met at Shaw's Corner on the WinchesterGeraldine road, and, with Mr J. Meredith, onptain, leading rode in procession through Winchester and from thence through Temuka. The procession is sail to bo the best of the kin 1 ever held in this district, and it is believed that cycling will now " take on " and go ahead beie. Within th/i last few years cycling has already made r pid strides in Temuka, Winchester. Ger 1diiip, find Woodbury, and for every one "bike '" on the roads a few y;ara ago we now see about ten. There is rot the lea*t doubt that the new club just formed at Geraldine will develop a fraternal feeling amongst our cyclists which will not only make bicycle races at our local sports more interesting than they have been, but will perhaps end in the club holding an annual cycling meeting on their own account. We wish the club every success in this respect, for cycling is comparatively one of the most harmless and yet best exercises our young men can indulge iu.
