MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.
The adjourned meeting of the Mount Peel Road Board was held on Friday last. The members present were Messrs 0. G. Tripp, G. J Dennistou, R. Mackay, and R. Thew. In the absence of the Hon. J. B. A. Acland, Mr Tripp occupied the chair.
Correspondence was read and considered. It was resolved that tenders be called for the following works:—Forming, metalling, and r. pairs to Turner’s road from the boundary to mill; alternate tenders for trimming only, and trimming and removing, the lower branches of trees in the 50-aore plantation » on QWon road near South Opub* sucll triramilJ g S to be ot tlie S COII tractor. ueciued to carry out the following works :—To put the various pack tracks in proper order; to clean out cuttingsand make general repairs on the road to Stew Point; to put a new timber top on the culvert on the Mount Peel road. Mr Patrick interviewed the Board asking them to put a 12in. pipe culvert under the road near Wheelbaud’s, to enable himself, Mr Whoalbaud, and Mr Bryan to lead a waterrace through their paddocks from a creek running past Mr Evans’ land.—The Board agreed to do the work in conjunction with the Geraldine Boad Board, subject to a proper agreement being entered into by the interested residents of Arundel securing enough water for a race, otherwise the culvert would be useless. Accounts amounting to £262 11s 6d were passed for payment, and the Board rose.
