SCULLING.

London, Sept. 25. A sculling race between Tom Sullivan of New Zealand, and George Bubear of England, for £2OOO a side and the Sportman's Challenge Cup was rowed over the championship course from Putney to Mortlake to-day. Sullivan beat Bubear by 5 lengths. Sullivan secured the lead at the start, and Bubear spurted and was on even terms at the Thames boathouse. Sullivan shortly afterwards increased the pace, and at Walden's had a lead of two lengths. From that out the race was virtually over. A few bets were recorded at the Btart, the ruling odds being 11 to 8 on Bubear. Sullivan narrowly escaped collision with a Bteamer when shooting Hammersmith Bridge, and lost quite two lengths through having changed his course. Time—22min 30sec
