Company of N.Z., Limited) report for th- 0 wee ] c ending August 21, Is 93 ‘_Wheat—We regret being iuiah-/ d repo rt any improvement _ Owing to the miserable prospects, holders are not forcing sales, Wnile speculators are indifferent as to their operations. Values are nominally 2s 7d co 2s 9d. Fowls’ feed is more readily saleable at Is lOd to 2s 3d for broken, and up to 2s 5d for whole. Oats continue to meet a steady market, and prices remain firm at 2s to 2s 4d. Barley —There is hardly any business passing in this grain now, as stocks in farmers’ hands are almost cleared out; 3s Gd to 4s is the range for malting samples, and Is 9d to 2s 3d for feed. Potatoes — The Sydney market has given way somewhat during the week, but the fall in value is only considered a temporary one, and 90s at country stations is still the curx - ent price to growers. Grass. Seeds.—The demand for spring sowing has now set in, and all descriptions of grass seeds and clovers have a good enquiry. Ryegrass is worth 2s 6d to 3s for farmers’ samples and up to 4s for machine-dressed seed. Cocksfoot is in strong request at 3d to 3jd, and 4d to 5d for machine-dressed. Dairy Produce.—■ Butter 7d, cheese 3d to 4d. Quotations f.0.b., sacks extra. Auction Sale—A large catalogue was presented on Saturday, and various lines of grain, &c., were disposed of at the following prices : Wheat was slow of sale, and wo only quitted one line offered at 2s 3d. Oats— Small line of prime, Canadians brought 2s sd, and a parcel of ordinTry feed 2s Barley.. —. Capo realised 2s 3d. laJfo'-mr Blues 2s Bd. Potatoes.— ® cr Teuts -md kidneos for seed were sold at reserves. Prices ex store, sacks extra.
