THE WEATHER.
Yesterday another strong nor'-wester blew ali day at Geraldine, making things Very disagreeable for people attending the fair. Trees, roofing, etc., again suffered to a certain extent, but the gale appeared to be raging worse in the direction of Orari Gorge and Peel Forest, where ominous-looking clouds hung round the hills. The weather was very warm the day, and rain set in about £ o'clock in the afternoon. The telegraph lines must been blown down in aonie of the district, at any rate ielGgraphio communication Was stopped between Geraldine and Temuta after four o'clook yesterday afternoon,
At Temuka yesterday afternoon a strong wind from tho nor'-west sprang up, which prevailed until about 6 o'clock in the evening. About 4 o'clock there was a light fall of rain. Some little damage was done to several plantations in tho district, notably along the Goraldiue road, where trees were blown aoross the road, and the Fire Brigade soaffolding at the Temuka Town Board office was levelled.
