OPENING OF PARLIAMENT.

The opening of Parliament took place last Thursday. After reading the Governor’s speech motions expressing sympathy with Mrs Ballauce in her bereavement were carried in both Houses. In the House of Representatives the Hon. Mr Seddon made an eloquent speech in motion of sympathy, which was seconded by Mr Rolleston and carried. On the motion of Mr Seddon, the House adjourned to next Tuesday, out of respect to the memory of the late Premier.
