DISASTROUS FLOODS.

Sydney, Juno 15. The greatest flood on record occurred yesterday at Kempsey, on the Macleay River, Central Kempsey was entirely under water, and a largo number of houses were completely swept away, while many others collapsed. The town and surrounding district present a horrible scone of devastation. Many of, the inmates of the wrecked buildings had narrow escapes from drowning, and cries of distress continued throughout the night. One boat capsized, and the occupants were throw into the water, but were eventually rescued. Groat quantities of stock have been swept away, but no loss of human life is reported. A number of houses in West Kempsey were also swept away.
