London, June 9. A renewal of the dockers’ strike at Hull is feared, as it- is alleged that the ship-owners are giving preference to “ free men ” in their employment of men. Melbourne, June 9. Several assaults have been committed on the seamen who have joined the vessels at the reduced rate of wages. The chief officer of the Tagliaferas was brutally assaulted by a baud of fifteen roughs.
