The Geraldino Rifles'mustered 37 on parade on Tuesday evening, when Sergt.Major Jones was present and gave the men a couple of hours’ drill. After parade Major Moore presented the prizes and won on the Queen’s Birthday, and other prizes, as under : 1— Color - Sergeant Stonehouse, E.P. cruet, 20s money prize, Company’s cup, and Lieutenant McDonald’s trophy, an alabaster clock, 2 Corporal Bethune, lamp and money prize of 12s 6d. 3 Sergeant Colbert, album and money prize of 10s. 4 Private H. Scott, accordian, company’s medal and 7s fid. 5 Private G. Scott, suit of clothes and money prize of 5s 6 Corporal Heatley, photo frames and money prize of 4s. 7 Private C, Heatley, clock. 8— Private S. Pizzey, basket of tea. 9 Private W. Winefield, razor. 10— Private E. Beckley, photo frames. 11— Bandsman Kraus, rug. 12— Sergeant Fiefield, shirt, Lieutenant McKenzie’s trophy a handsome cup, and Captain Pearpoint’s trophy a marble clock. 13— Sergeant Brown, tin kerosene. 14— Corporal Irvine, spurs. 15— Bandsman Logan, pair vases. Ifi—Private W. Turner, teapot. 17— Private A. Scott year’s Geraldine Guardian. 18— Private Fergusson, 6 fruit trees (Coombs). 19— Private Ensor, pair brackets. 20— Private Weaver, cake and half set horse shoes. 21— Sergeant Coles, 4 fruit trees (John Pye). 22 Private McLeod, whiskey. 23 Private Bryant, waistcoat. 24 Private Wood, hair brush and pipe. 25 — Private Husband, pipe. 26 Private Howes, quarter mutton and half set horse shoes. 27 — Private Ward, glass dish. 28— Private McKay, half set horse shoes and quarter ton potatoes. 29 Private Irvine, studs. 30— Private Lawlor, baby’s chair and half set horse shoes (Newport). 31— Private Evans, toast rack. 32 Private McKenzie, spectacles and bracket. Lowest score (Mr Irwin’s sack oats) Private McKenzie. Highest score at 400 yards (Mr Cochrane’s pig) Sergeant Colbert. The firing for Lieutenant McKenzie’s cup has been postponed from the 15th instant until the 22nd, and the company fire a match with the Timaru Navals on the 16th instant.
