GERALDINE RACING CLUB.
Tne annual meeting of tho above club was held at the Geraldine Hotel, on Tuesday evening. Tho attendance was fair, and the chair was occupied by Mr R, H, Pearpoint. Mr Pearpoint, as chairman of the committtee, made a short statement as to the year’s working, showing an improvement in the club’s position of about £l5O. The secretary read the statement of receipts and expenditure which was adopted. Messrs J. Mundell, W. Deßonzy, and J. Farrell, the retiring members of committee, were re-elected.
A resolution was passed cordially endorsing the action of the Ashburton R.O, with respect to a conference of Country Racing Clubs on July sth, and Mr R. H. Pearpoint was appointed delegate for the Geraldine Club.
The question as to how the club was to meet the difficulty of the increased stakes required to be given was discussed, and the decision was left over till after the conference. At a committee meeting subsequently held Mr Pearpoiut was re-elected chairman, and Mr J. Farrell was elected treasurer.
