Necessary Precaution.—ln Auckland a conference of representatives of the city and various other locjii bpdies met, the Mayor of A uckland presiding, to consider the question of taking measures to secure a systematic and proper inspection of the meat sold for food. The general opinion was expressed that an inspector who is an expert should be appointed, and a committee was chosen to obtain information on the subject and report to a future meeting.
