CHRISTCHURCH CORN EXCHANGE. The following is the Corn Exchange report (per G. S. Hickmam Secretary;, for the week ending May 19th : Wheat —Tuscan, 2s 8d to 2s 9d; pearl, 2s 7d to 2s 8d; hunters, 2s 7d; chick wheat, Is Gd to 2s 3d. Oats—Milling, la lid ; bright feed, Is 9d to Is lOd; ordinary feed, Is 8d ; larfcariau (seed), Is lid. ' Barley—Prime, 4s ; medium, 3s 3d to 3s 6d; feed, Is lOd to 2s. Peas—Blue, 3s Id ; duns, 2s 8d; partridge, 2s lOd. Beans, 2s 10tl. Onions, 455. Ryegrass—3s 3d to 3s Gd; farmers’ parcels, 2s to 2s 9d. Cocksfoot, 2d to 3£d. Tares—Gs to Bs. Butter from 7d to lOd. Cheese, 3d to 4£d. Hams and bacon iu cloth, 7d to Bd. Flour—£7 to £B. Bran, £2 Io n Sharps, £3. Chaff—Oat straw, £2 ; wheat straw, £1 12s Gd. Straw—Wheat, £1 ; oar., £llos. Oatshcaf chaff, £3 5s ; oat sheaves, £2 os to £2 10s. Potatoes—Kidneys, 45s to 50s ; derweuts, 35s (June delivery) ; 37s Gd to 40s, ex pit. DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKETS. The following is the report for the week ending Wednesday ; Wheat—Fair inquiry for good lines of tuscan and velvet ; medium quality not easily placed. Prime quality saleable at 2s 9d to 2s 10(1; medium, 2s 4d to 2s Sd; fowls’ wheat, good whole grain, 2s 3d to 2s -id; medium, Is lid to 2s Id. Barley—Chevalier, 3s 9d to 4s 3d ; Cape, 2s 9d to 3s, for malting qualities. Oats have very good enquiry and are easily placed off trucks. Good milling, to Is 10(1; prime short feed, Is 8d to Is IGd; other sorts. Is 7d to Is Bd. Hops—ls, f.0.b., Nelson. Potatoes—Good derwents, 52s Gd, and wanted (supplies short during the week) ; other qualities. 45s to 47s Gd. Pigs have fair inquiry, 4|-d to for suitable sizes and quality. Hams, 9d; bacon, 6^d. Chaff —Supply in excess of demand, prime, 45s to 50s ; good, 40s to 42s Gd. Salt butter—Demand quiet, 7,Vd to Bd, packages extra. Cheese in better demand, Akaroa large, 4|d to 4|-u ; factory, 4-|-d to sd. Honey—Extracted, sGlb tins, 4|d to 5d ; other sorts from 3-kd to 4 : j-d. Grass Seeds—Ryegrass, 2s to 2s 6d ; machined up to 3s 3d ; old pasture to 3s 9d ; cocksfoot, to 4d. Melbourne onions, £5; Canterbury, £4 10s. Roller Hour, £7 10s to £8: stone, £6 16s to £7 ; oO’s, 10s more. Bran—£2 10s to £2 15s. Pollard, £3 ss. Sheepskins—At .auction mi Tuesday prices showed a, slight decline. Butchers’ green skins—halfbred and crossbred 3s 41 to 3s 9d; merino, 2s 7d to 3s 4d;.dry skins—crossbred and halfbred (fullwoollod) from 3s 7d to 5s 9cl; do (half to three-quarter-woolled) from 2s Grl to 3a Gd; merino (full-woolled) from 3s 3d to ss: do (half to three-quarter-woollod' r 2s to 3s 21; pelts, from Gd x , 11 u,u Bides-Markfl*- . • olsod - Tallow- unchanged. —v or best mutton ,21s to 22s Gd; .uum, 18s 6d to 20s 6d ; inferior to medium, 15s to 18s. Rough fat—mutton caul, 14s to 14s 6d; medium, 12s 6d to 13s 6d. DUNEDIN STOCK MARKETS. At the Burnside Market on Wednesday the following business was transacted;— Fat Cattle—The supply for this week’s market was small, only 134 head being yarded, and a more wretched display of cattle, ho far as quality was concerned, had not been witnessed since the Burnside yards were built. Best bullocks, and there were uo heavy-weight cattle in the market, brought from £8 to £9, ordinary £7 to £7 15s, light £G to £6 12s Gd, prime cows and heifers £G 10s to £7 10s, ordinary do £4 10s to £5 15s, aged and inferior £2 10s to £3 10s. Store Cattle—A fair demand exists for this class of stock, and were there more offering both young and grown cattle could be sold in large numbers at satisfactory prices. Fat Sheep were also in very meagre supply, the total number penned being 1116, of which about 200 were merinos. A very brisk demand was experienced, and prices, especially in the case of the few pens of prime sheep that were entered, showed a considerable advance. Prime crossbred wethers brought from 17s to 18s, ordinary do 15s to 16s Gd, light do 13s to 14s Gd, prime crossbred ewes 14s Gd to IGs Gd, ordinary do 13s to 14s, light do 11s to 12s Gd, merino wethers (medium quality) from 5s to 10s. Fat Lambs—329 penned, and these sold at from 6s to 11s. Store Sheep—Business in this description of stock is restricted to sales of small lots of crossbred wethers for topping off on turnips, and here and there an odd line of breeding ewes continues to change hands.. Adelaide. May 17, Wheat, 3s Id to 8s 2d. Cats, 3s to 3s 2d, duty paid. Flour, £8 to £8 2s Gd. Biau, 9d to UM; pollard, 11d. MONETARY API COMMERCIAL. London, May 16. All colonial stocks have sustained a fall since last Thursday’s quotations. Those of New Zealand occupy about tho best position, 4 per cents, being quoted at 90, (?) and 3A per cents, at 92. other quotations are as follows : —New South Wales 4 per cents,, 99A ; 3A per cents., 84|. South Australia 4 per cents., 95 ; 3A per cents., 86. Victoria 4 per cents., 95. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 3,680,000 quarters. A cargo of wheat from Victoria sold at 30s 9d.
