LECTURE TO MEN ONLY.

BY J, CHARLES HARRISON, M.D. Few men who have devoted their lives to specialities have gained as great renown as the distinguished tr >veller, J. C. Hardsou, M.D., who will make his first appearance in Timaru at the Theatre Royal to-night. Mr Labouchere, in Truth, who most fearlessly and relentlessly exposes any sort of quackery. has given biru the catchtt ”of his unqualified support, and such eminent journalists as Edmund Yates, of the World, has also written most favorably of his le tures. The London Daily Post says:—“ Fully 2500 men crowded into St. James’ Hall on the occasion of the first lecture by J. Charles Harrison. The audience composed many of London’s foremost society and literary gentlemen. V ... The applause was frequent and vigorous. . . . . Thediscussion throughout was sound and forcible exhibiting a thorough knowledge of the subject.” The lecture to-night will be free and most elegantly illustrated with stareopticon views. Dr Harrison and Mrs Potts have with them one of the most experienced etereopticians in America, and the views are said to be remarkably elegant. Dr Harrison has just finished a very successful course of lectures at the Theatre Royal, Christchurch. The first lecture will be free.
