Judicial Sevabation. Replying to a letter from the Rev. L. M. Isitt, tue Trades and Labour Council passed the following resolution :— ,s That this Counsel has considered the question of cheap and if needfuil, free judicial separation and is of opinion that facilities should be given to the movement by the Government. It considers that it is grievously wrong i a poor person should be compelled to live with a habitual drunkard for life for want of means to obtain a j udicial separation. The difficulty in the way is as to the manner in which this desirable reform can be best attained. If the temperance party will take the lead in the matter the Council is prepared to give it all possible support, and suggests as a solution of the difficulty an extension of the procedure of the Married Women’s Property Protection Act so as to apply to the law of judicial sepui'aUoa."
