PROPERTY SALE.

Thera was a large attendance at the Oddfellows’ Hall, Geraldine, on Thursday afternoon, when Mr H. 13. Webster put up several town properties on behalf of his clients. At the conclusion of the sale Mr Webster said he was quite satisfied with the briskness of the bidding, which showed that Geraldine was in a fair state of prosperity. The sales were as follow ■ Lot I.—Part of Section 26, Town of Geraldine, containing Seventeen Perches and nine-tenths of a Perch, with the Butcher’s Shop and Dwelling House thereon, occupied by Mr F. W. Wnrner as tenant. Knocked down to Mr JFarrell for £370.

Lot 2.—Part of Section 26, Town of Geraldine, containing Twenty-two Perches, with Three Shops thereon, occupied by Messrs Turner and Colbert and Miss Carrig as tenants. —To Mr W. T. Turner for £285.

Lot 3.—Lot numbered 19, subdivision of Rural Section 6382, containing One Rood and Thirty-three Perches, with the Bush Hotel thereon. —To Mr Smithson for £550.

Lot 4. —Lot 22, subdivision of Rural Section 6382, containing Three Roods and Twenty-four Perches, with the DwellingHouse thereon. —To Mrs Mcllwraith for £145.

Mr A. Kelmau’s goodwill of leasehold of an education reserve of 354 acres, and Mr Peter Stevenson’s 2 acres and a fourroomed dwelling-house were also put up. The bidding for the goodwill of lease did not roach the owner’s reserve, and was consequently not sold. For Mr Stevenson’s property the bidding came to about £2 10s below the reserve, and was not knocked down.
