TIMARU RACES. FIRST DAY. The South Canterbury Jockey Club’s Autum Meeting commenced on Thursday last. The day was beautifully fine and the attendance rather better than usual. The office-bearers all carried out their duties in a most satisfactory manner, the races were well contested, and those present seemed to enjoy themselves thoroughly.
