SUPREME COURT.
At Wellington on Wednesday, Albert Thomas was sentenced to five years for the attempt to murder J. L. Kirk bride. William McKinley, aged 16, was sentenced to two years for asauit at JFoxton. Both these prisoners are to be watched in reference to their mental condition. David Moran was acquitted on a charge of stealing a purse and £6. On Thursday John Clark was acquitted of embezzlement. It was mentioned that Greenwood, who had been sentenced to two years for stealing a £loo‘note, had disclosed its whereabouts, and the judge said he would consider whether he would remit a portion of the termt
At Dunedin, on Wednesday, Arthur James Watt, charged With assaulting a patient, while a warder at Seacliff Asylum, was acquitted. At Nelson, on Wednesday, Kate Kite pleaded guilty to stealing articles from a house where she was servant, and Wtttt sentenced to six months. Henry Say, for pointing a loaded gUn at a married woman, was sentenced to sis months.
