On the Tuesday following additional sadness was imparted to the event by the death of Miss Dight’s. youngest sister, seventeen yegrs u< age, from a snake bite. She w;vs stopping with her brother-in-law near Ailmry and whilst returning on Sunday morning from her bath-room, which was some distance from the house, was bitten on the ancle by a snake. She make light of the occurrence at first, but symptoms

of blood poisoning soon showed themselves. Vigorous remedies were applied, and the patient got so well that next morning she was considered out of danger. She, however, collapsed again during the afternoon, and died! Great sympathy is expressed for the family in their double bereavement.
