Sir J, F. Garrick, Agent-General for Queensland, has published a telegram from the Premier of that colony, stating that it is not necessary to appeal to the public, though private assistance in aid of the sufferers by the floods would be gratefully received. The Times states that the continual increase of colonial bills is not regarded with favor in the city, and it is thought that Queensland will ask a new loan with an Imperial guarantee on account of the floods.
