DISASTROUS FLOODS IN AUSTRALIA.

Brisbane, Feb. 15. Three bodies, of two men and a woman, have been recovered fiom the river. The municipal valuation of the loss by the floods in No. 1 ward, South Brisbane, is £24,000. Ninety-four houses were destroyed, and twenty-damaged. London, Feb. 14.

Sir J, F. Garrick, Agent-General for Queensland, has published a telegram from the Premier of that colony, stating that it is not necessary to appeal to the public, though private assistance in aid of the sufferers by the floods would be gratefully received. The Times states that the continual increase of colonial bills is not regarded with favor in the city, and it is thought that Queensland will ask a new loan with an Imperial guarantee on account of the floods. It hopes that, despite the Ageiit-GeneraPs letter, a Mansion House fund will be started.
