The Championship Athletic Meeting commenced at Wellington at Saturday, thdre being a large attendance of spectators. A strong wind prevailed. Results : —IOO Yards : The first heat was won by Nathan, the second by Hempton, and the final by Heinpton, with Nathan second ; time, 10 2/ssec. Half-Mile Championship : Gurr (Wellington) 1, Burke (Dunedin), 2 ; time, 2min 4sec. One Mile Walking Championship : Thomas (Canterbury) 1, Findlay (Dunedin) 2 ; time, 7min 12 2/ssec. 120 Yards Hurdles Championship : The first heat was won by Postlethwaito, the second by Moir, and the final by Moir (Canterbury), with Taiaroa (Dunedin) second, and Postlethwaito (Canterbury) third ; time, 1(5 4/ssec. Polo Jump : West (Canterbury) w.o. 10ft o|in, which w slightly over the standard. Quo Mil& Championship : llees (Canterbury) 1, Leggett (Canterbury) 2, Cooper (Wellington) 3 ; time, 4min 41 3/ssec. Throwing the Hammer : McCormack (Wellington 1. 250 Yards Flat Race : Barley (Wellington) 1, Low (Dunedin) 2 j time, 27 3/ssec. High .lump ; Meyrick (Manawatu), and E. Gore (Wellington), oft sin, equal, 1 and 2. Three Mile Walk : G. Alloway (Dunedin) 1, Thomas (Christchurch) 2; time, 24min 3tisec. Long Jump : E. Gore (Wellington) (21ft Ojin) 1, Taiaroa (Dunedin) (20ft Gin) 2, Postlethwaite (Christchurch) (20ft 3in) 3; Gore's jump is the amateur record for New Zealand.
