January 17 Herald, s.s., 376 tons, Jones, from southern ports. SAILED. January 17 Herald, s.s., 376 tons, Jenes, for the north. January 17 —Omapere, s.s., 352 tons, Phillips, for Dunedin. Auckland, January 18. The steamer Miowera arrived from Sydney at 1.30 a.m., and the Rotomahana at 6.8 a.m. The former beat the latter by 3h. 3m. The Miowera made a record passage between Sydney and Auckland, the time being 3 days 10 hours 52 minutes, beating the Mararoa’s previous record by 1 hour 8 minutes. The German warship Buzzard arrived from Samoa this morning. Bluff, January 17. Arrived—Mararoa, from Melbourne, at 6.15 p.m. She left the Queen’s wharf at 12.50 p.m. on the 13th. Albany, January 16. Arrived —Parramatta, from Plymouth. Passengers for New Zealand : Sir Gervais Glyn, Messrs Robinson, Bard, Winlaw, and Singleton, London, January 16. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s s.s. Otarama haa sailed for Port Chalmers and Lyttelton.
