THE LATE FLOWER SHOW

TO THE EDITOR, Sir, —I see by Saturday’s paper that “ A Looker On ” is calling attention to the inferior quality of currant cakes at the late show. Will the judge or someone else define “ currant cake ” in your next issue 'I It may be that I am very ignorant in the ways of the world, but if I went to a store and asked a grocer for 61b of currants, I should not expect to get 41b of currants and 21b of figs. The cake that took first prize was very well made and baked, and v the best on the stand to look at, but I think, as “ the proof of the pudding is in the eating thereof,” cakes ought to be tested by taste as well as sight.—l am, etc.,
