London, Jan. 9. The strike of miners of Saarsbruck in extending into the Rhenish and Westphalian districts. The miners of Gelsen, Kirch en, Bochum, and Essen have announced their intention of ceasing work to-day. Jan. 9. The Lancashire strikers have offered to meet the masters on Thursday with a view to a settlement of the dispute. The trial of Mr Ben Tillet, for inciting the Bristol dockers to a riot, is proceeding. It is alleged that he asked the crowd to defend their wages and homes with fists and clubs, and if necessary with guns. The Unionists express sympathy with him, and an enthusiastic crowd daily attend the court. Washington. Jan. 9. The United States railways have decided to discharge aP Unionist porters. Sydney, Jan. 9. 4 no new Laud Bill, which will shortly k p introduced in the Legislative Assembly contains a provision for a co-operative system of selection, whereby a number of men may take up and work land. John Cartwright, a prominent Unionist who was arrested in connection with the shooting of bullocks belonging to a squatter near Tamworth, has been discharged. Melbourne, Jan. 10. Chinese cabinetmakers to the number of 200 have struck against a reduction in wages. ___„__„
