ELECTRICITY V. LUXENE. In a contest between these two illuminants, it is questionable which would come out on top. Lux«ne is pure white, odourless and smokeless. So is electricity, but the latter requires expensive generating machinery, and is a fixture. Luxene is portable, ready for use at all times, and with a clear lamp gives the perfection of artificial light. It is well known that some of the most disastrous fires in recent years have been directly caused by the use of common kerosene. Luxene is safe, brilliant, and gives a soft pleasant light. Only 2d. per gallon over ordinary kerosene. Strongly cased. Patent nozzles.
