Wellington, December 4. The Mararoa arrived from Sydney at 9 o'clock this morning after a smooth weather passage of 3 days 15 hours. She brought 105 saloon passengers and 198 in the steerage, The majority of the latter are in search of work, and from enquiries on board it was ascertained that vessels leaving for New Zealand are rushed by unemployed anxious to work their passage to thi3 colony with a view of securing employment. One and all give a doleful account of the labor market in the other colonies. Port Chalmers, December 3. Arrived—Tekoa, Captain Smart, 53 days, from London. She brings 3 cows and 1 Highland bull for Lyttelton. One cow died previous to arrival at Teneriffe. Sydney, December 4. Arrived —Tarawera from Auckland. Albany, December 3. Arrived—Rome, s.s., from Plymouth Passengers for New Zealand: Mr and Mrs Wright, Mr and Mrs Duke, Misses Slater, Phillips, Underwood, Right, Roberts, and Davidson. Messrs Scrutton, Moses, Wilde, Taylor, Studholme, and Wright.
