Sydney, Nov. 20. Evidence in the baby-farming cases has been concluded, and the inquest adjourned until Monday. A shower of meteors was observed at Tumut on Thursday night. The crew of the ship Port Glasgow has been sentenced to a month’s imprisonment each on a charge of disobeying the orders of the captain. The men accused the captain of incompetency and threatened to throw him overboard if he interfered in the ship. They petitioned the mate to take command, and alleged that during bad weather the captain remained below; and that when the vessel was in danger of foundering the captain

was compelled to hand over command to the first mate.
