EVICTED TENANTS COMMISSION.

London, Nov. 8. The Earl of Clanricade has declined to personally attend and give evidence before the Evicted Tenants Commission. He, however, was represented by Mr Carston, who, when refused permission to cross-examine witnesses, retired, as did counsel representing Mr Smith Barry. Both legal gentlemen declared that the whole thing was sharp practice. Mr Matthews, Chairman of Commissioners, authorised cross-examination in the later proceedings. At the opening of the commission there were extraordinary scenes between the chairman and counsel representing the land* lords.
