STOCK CONFERENCE.

The Stock Conference sat at Wellington on Friday. A motion was carried at the instance of Mr .Roberta to the effect that the Tasmanian Government be requested to remove the restrictions from the importation of New Zealand cattle into that colony, seeing that no cattle disease exists in New Zealand. Mr Lawry moved a resolution, which was carrio requesting the various Australasian Governments to foster and develop the dairy industry. It was resolved that the code of regulations drawn up by the Conference be recommended to take effect in the Australasian Colonies from the Ist January, 1893. During the sitting of the Conference the Minister for Agriculture was able to be present for a short time. Ou his introduction the Conference adjourned to offer him a welcome. The Minister’s health was proposed briefly and appropriately by cbr John Hall. in reply, Mr McKenzie welcomed the delegates to whom, ho said, the colony would bo always indebted for their acceptance of the invitation to assist in tire cliscusssion of the various questions that had been brought before the Conference.
