Arrived—Prince Baudouiu from New Zealand. Hong Kong, October 18. Details to hand of the loss of the P. and O. Co.’s steamer Bokhara show that the number of lives lost was 125, including 20 passengers, five officers, and three sergeants of the Hong Kong garrison. Two passengers and three of the vessel’s officers were saved, the remainder of the survivors being Lascars. Among those who lost their lives were eleven members of a military cricket team, who were returning after playing a match in Shanghai. Among those saved are Dr Lawson and Lieut. Markham. The Bokhara had 200,000 dollars worth of specie on board when she was wrecked. Her commander was Captain Sarnras, who was well known in the Australian trade.
