UGANDA.

London, Oct. 11, Mr Stanley, in a letter to The Times says that there is nothing in the Berlin Conference to prevent any power from occupying Uganda, in the event of England evacuating that country. City men have asked the Lord Mayor to convene a meeting to protest against the evacuation. The Church Missionary Society is appealing to the people of England to forbid the evacuation of Uganda by the British. The Rev, Mr Tucker is now proceeding to Uganda to fina l ' decide on the course to be event of evacuation.
