London, Oct. 10, The Times thinks it is not surprising that the Broken Hill Proprietary owners have taken steps to emancipate themselves from the tyranny of the Unions, Washington, Oct. 9, The Anti-Convict Society in Knoxville is pledged to kill anyone giving evidence against Munro, their leader, who is being tried for the murder of militiamen during the recent r i o t s Tennessee. Threap are made of repeating thedynamite outrage at Home--B*'ei,L, near Pittsburg. Oct. 10. A portion of Carnegie’s mills at Homestead has been dynamited, but the bomb was defective and the damage was not extensive. Two nonunionists were injured. Sydney, Oct. 10.
Mr Baxter has signed a large contract with the Proprietary Company at Broken Hill, and offers the miners 10s a day, or is willing to sublet a contract to a body of practical miners. A number of the men on strike are dissatisfied with the conduct of strike affairs and have formed a new union with the object of bringing the present trouble to an end, Oct. 11.
It is understood that the new Union at Broken Hill is the outcome of Masonic influence.
