Tin; Unemployed.— A number of unemployed waited on Mr Farnie, of the Ota"o Labor Bureau, on Thursday, and, finding that that he could give_ no intimation as to when work would be given, they waited on the mayor. They alleged that many of them were absolutely destitute, and had not the means to obtain food. The mayor telegraphed to the Minister of Public Works, stating that fully -00 were unemployed, and that many were in distress. lie asked if nothing could done to Iwry on works.
