THE TEXAS MARRIAGE TRAGEDY.

The following story was telegraphed from San Antonio with reference to the murder of a young couple which was the subject of a cable message in May : —On Tuesday there arrived a newly-married couple, Harold Fellows and his bride, on their honeymoon trip. He was a prosperous farmer, had lived all his life in the vicinity, and although noted for his somewhat violent temper, has for years been a highly respected member of the community. He was married in the morning, in the suburbs of the city, to the daughter of a neighbouring physician. Upon their arrival at the inn a number of young fellows who were standing about recognised them and indulged in some good natured banter, which Fellows took with a very bad grace. Later in the evening, after reinforcing their numbers they arrived in front of the hotel, and _ pro* •ceeded to make the night hideous with a pot and kettle serenade. The bridegroom ordered them away. The noise was redoubled. Tb§n Fellows drew a pistol apd fired three times into the crowd. As he was about to fire a fourth time his wife seized his arm. Two of the sorenudei’S were killed on the spot; but at the same instant, and before Fellows and his bride had time to draw back from the balcony, the crack of half a pistol shots rang opt from among the serenaderg, and the bride and bridegroom fell back into their bedroom dead. There is intense excitement in the yipinify 53 Fellows’s two brothers are already getting together some armed friends, and swear they will take vengeance upon the remainder of the serenading party, most of whom are known. The dead bodies of the bride and bridegroom are laid out in the parlor of the hotel side by side.
