THE SALTATION ARMY.
TO XHE EDITOR. Sir,—Would you kindly privilege me with a few lines in the columns of your paper. I would like it to be understood that people seeking Salvation at the Army penitent form do not become " members," nor yet Salvation Army Soldiers, till they have been one month on probation, as a test of their genuineness, before being enrolled and admitted jntq tlie ranks. Seeing that the public are imder the impression that when a person visits the Army penitent form a case of "me join 'em " right off. I would like to enlighten them a bit. One, mouth under the commanding officer's supervision as ;i recruit entitles a person to become a in.m.l Solvation Army Soldier, and until iheic life contradicts their: profession they arc recognised as such.— Yours sincerely, ' ' J. F. Merciek, Paptain S.A., Temuka, Sept, 20, 18q2 ;
