CHOLERA
London, Sept. 16. The Lord Mayor refuses to open a fund for the relief of Hamburg. Berlin, Sept. 12. There were 203 deaths at Hamburg yesterday. Sept. 16. Two hundred and six deaths were reported at Hamburg yesterday. The military doctors who were despatched to the city are now leaving, as the back of the epidemic is believed to be broken. The theatres are being re-opened. Sept. 17. Two hundred and thirteen deaths from cholera were reported in Hamburg to-day. Home, Sept. 17. It is reported that, the death rate in Naples has reached 10 daily. St. Petersburg, Sept. 17. Cholera has appeared among the Russian troops stationed along the banks of the river Truth, in Besarabia. Calcutta, Sept. 16. Cholera is decimating the Ameci'A troops .and preventing him from attacking the XXazaars. Ottawa, Sept. 16. Orders have been issued to quarantine passengers by train, from New York. New York, Sept. 10. I'ive deaths from Asiatic cholera occurred between September 6 and 13. The victims were all people who had been resident here for many years. The steamship companies have agreed to convey no steerage passengers from European ports to America for the present. Sporadic cholera has made its appearance in New York. Other States are excited, and are discusssing the advisability of excluding New Yorkers. Three more deaths from cholera are recorded in the city. Sept. 17. The Normania’s pas-iongm's were released to-dav. As a measure of precaption troops were called out to protect them. Panama, Sest. 16. Sanavilla and Panama are both excluding Europeans owing to the cholera scare. The mail steamer upon attempting to land passengers and mails was fired upon three times. Eventually a gunboat received the mails. Wellington, Sept. 17. Avrangements have been made to fumigate mails from places outside the Australian colonics. The City Council intend to ask the Central Board of Health to take some action to disinfect goods from Hamburg.
