PAMIR AND AFGHANISTAN.
Calcutta, Sept. 6. The Anglo Indian press condemns the despatch of a mission to the Ameer, and predicts for it the fate which befel Sir Louis Cavignari in 1879, when he and his escort were murdered. The British are occupying the Kurman Valley, and will assist the Ameer to restore order. St. Petersburg, Sept. o. The Czar has instructed General Yanoff not to transgress his orders, nor to forget the peaceful character of his mission.
