CHOLERA.
London, Aug 28. Two Russian immigrants at Glasgow have been seized with cholera. Extraordinary precations are being taken in London. Aug 2i). Two sailors at Grimsby and one at Middlesborough, who had arrived in a vessel from Hamburg, were attacked by cholera, and the latter has died. The cases of cholera reported in Paris are believed to be of the true Asiatic type. The rumour thst the epidemic had broken out in Berlin is confirmed, and the disease has also reached Amsterdam. A seaman who arrived from Hamburg has died. At Dundas, in Canada, thirteen cases were reported in three days, and one has proved fatal. The physician to the Czar of Russia has died from cholera.
A case of suspected cholera is reported from Swansea. Cholera is decreasing in Russia, Hamburg, and Altona, but has appeared at Halle, Leipsig, Bolton, and North Shields.
A Polish emigrant and a Polish girl are in the London Hospital suffering from cholera. The Glasgow patients are recovering.
Dr Koch in his report on the outbreak in Hambnrg severely condemns the insanitary condition of the city. An unofficial estimate of the number of the number of deaths in Hamburg since the first appearance of cholera is 2400. The shipping companies are refusing to take immigrants from infected ports. Mr 11. IT. Fowler, President of the Local Government Board, has issued an order, preventing filthy and unwholesome immigrants from landing in the United Kingdom unless they can pass a satisfactory examination by the sanitary officials.
Paris, Aug. 29. Twenty-five deaths from cholera are reported at Havre. Berlin, Aug. 29.
Cholera has broken out in Bremen and is increasing to an alarming extent in Hamburg, where 200 deaths were reported on Saturday. It is also spreading to the towns and districts in the vicinity of Hamburg. A number of wealthy people are leaving the place and prayers are offered in the churches for the cheek of the epidemic,
Dr Koch expects tha.t "solera will spread in Hamburg affect &n parts of the- city owing to the bad water supply.
Aug. 30. Black pox has appeared in Hamburg. Two hundred deaths from cholera were reported in Hamburg on Monday and eight in Bremen. Dr Koch objects to the streets being watered, because the baecillus thrives in moisture. The residents of Hamburg who are fleeing from the city are refused admitance at watering places. Vienna, Aug. 29, Prince Esterhazy has recovered from the attack of cholera, Melbourne, Aug. 29. The Board of Health does not consider that special steps are required to prevent the spread of cholera to this colony. Aug. SO. Great precautions are being taken against cholera. Sydney, Aug. 29. The Board of health proposes to apply special regulations in the case of vessels arriving from cholera-infected ports.
