The match between the Temuka 2nd and Timaru High School, at Timaru, on Thursday, resulted in a win for Temuka by 23 points to nil. On Thursday afternoon some members of the Waihi Football Club held a practice. Seven a side took part in the game, which was of a fast, open character. A Star (Timaru) team beat Pleasant Point, on the hitter's ground on Thursday, by 11 points to 2. A cup match at Timaru on Thursday between Union and Timaru, resulted in a draw, both sides scoring a try. At Christchurch on Thursday night the South Canterbury Rugby Union wrote, suggesting that Thursday, September 15th, would be the better day on which to meet North Canterbury, if that date could be arranged. The Union also asked for a ruling. on the point as to whether a union could suspend for insulting conduct a spectator who was a member of a Football Club affiliated to the Union. —lt was felt that if a spectator were unruly on a Union ground the Union could have him removed, but beyond this they could do nothing.
