Fruit Growing.—The Canterbury Fruit Growers Association has decided to make enquiries with a view to forming a company for making- jam, canning fruit, and exporting raw fruit. The Railways. —The railway returns for the four weeks ended June 25th were : —■Receipts £88,0(52, expenditure £58,374, For the twelve weeks of the present financial year, for which the returns are complete, there is a material increase in passengers, produce, _ and merchandise, giving - an increase of £20,000 in the not revenue for the 12 weeks, as against the corresponding hi weeks of 1801. The actual increases in traffic were as follows, the figures representing tons Wool 3458, firewood 2458, timber HJUB, grain 4:’>,0i50, merchandise 1 1,i55!», and mineral, 4005. In chaff alone was there was a decrease, and that was to the extent of 200 tons, thus leaving-a a net incease for the 12 weeks of 07,021. J
