ROYAL INSTRUCTIONS.

Boy?d instructions to the Governor, dated March 26th, 1892, are Gazetted. These instructions take the place of those issued in 1879, which are revoked. The following is given as a list of Bills which must be reserved for the Queen’s assent : —(1) Any Bill for the divorce of persons joined together in holy matrimony; (2) Any Bill whereby any grant of land or money or other donation or gratuity may be made to the Governor ; (3) Any Bill affecting ihe currency of the colony; (4) any Bill imposing differential duties other than are allowed by the Australian Colonies Duties Act, 1873; (5) any bill the provisions of which shall appear inconsistent with the obligations imposed upon us by treaty ; (0) any Bill interfering with the discipline or control of our forces in the colony by laud or sea; j (7) any Bill of an extraordinary nature and importance whereby our prerogative or rights and property of our subjects ■ not residing in the colony, or the trade and shipping of the United Kingdom and ] its dependencies may be prejudiced ; (8) i any Bill containing -provisions to whioh our assent has once been refused, or j which have been disallowed by us. Power ' however, is given to the Governor to j assent where he has obtained instructions < beforehand, and in certain cases of 1 emergency.
