IN BANKRUPTCY.
ROSS, SIMS, AND CO, A meeting of the creditors of D. M. Ross and W. M. Sims Avas held in Timaru yesterday. Mr Greenwood, Official Assignee, Christchurch, presided, and, the meeting being too large, adjourned it from the usual room to the Sophia-street Hall. - The Assignee said that although Messrs Ross & Sims had filed collectively it would be necessary to hold two meetings. The two meetings would be held simultaneously. After half-an-hour spent in examining proofs of debt, the Assignee proceeded to read the statements of the debtors, as follows : David Mitchell Ross. The reading of all the lists lasted about an hour, after which Mr Greenwood said it was usual for the assiguee to examine the debtors on oath, but that had not been done owing to tl\e peculiar circumstances, under w-hich there was 110 j local, deputy. They could, however, proceed to examine the debtors at the present meeting, but the question was whether they had not better appoint supervisors. There was no Deputy Assignee appointed yet, but ho expected one would sqon be appointed. Mr Perry suggested two supervisors should be appointedMr White said that in consequence of a most painful incident which had just occurred (suicide of Mr Ziesler) it would be well tp adjourn the meeting, Mr Sims was so prostrated by it that he would not be fit to undergo an examination, After some further conversation It was reso|vpd, 01} the motion of Mr McKeown, to appqii4 Me.ssrs Chisho.ini and Gibson liquidators..
