PRESBYTERY MEETING.
A meeting of the Px-esbytery was held at Timaru on Tuesday. Present—The Revs. W. Gillies (Moderator), James, Clarke, J. Dickson, J. White, J. McKee, and A. B. Todd, and Messrs S. Mcßride D. Shaw, S. Cain, John Goldie, sen., and Jas. Wilson. The Moderator extended a welcome to Mr Dickson on his return from the Old Country, .and also to Mr White, who took his seat for the first time in the Presbytery. Mr Clarke was appointed Moderator for the next twelve months. The visitation of the Timaru Presbyterian Church was fixed for Tuesday, 10th August, and the visitation to Pleasant Point was fixed for October sth. In accordance with the resolution of the Assembly, Mr Clarke was appointed to look after the interests of the Church Extension Fund in the Presbytery. The application from Waimate for leave to borrow £SO for building was granted. A very satisfactory report was given in from Otaio by the Rev. Mr McKee, which showed that £9O had been raised during six months. The Rev. Mr McKee gave in his resignation of Waimate charge, to take effect at the end of August. The resignation was ordered to lie on the table, and Mr Gillies was appointed to meet the congregation and appear for their interests at the Presbytery on August IGth. Messrs Dickson and White were appointed to examine the papers of candidates in Sabbath School examinations, and the meeting terminated.
