London, June 12. The result of the conference of the building trades of London has been to secure better wages and conditions for the men. Ninety thousand miners in Wales and Monmouthshire have had to submit to a reduction in wages in consequence of the introduction of the sliding scale. June 14. The Northumberland miners have voted £4OOO and the Durham miners £IOOO to the relief of the Cleveland minors. The northern seamen have accepted a reduction in wages. Madiup, June 12. Barcelona is proclaimed in a state of siege owing to labor riots. Adelaide, June 14. The Government have decided to extend the eight hours per day system to all railway employees where the work is principally continuous. * ENGLISH AND FOREIGN MARKETS. London. June 12. Tallow, mutton, medium, 25s Gd; ditto beef, 245. The English wheat market is dull; the Continental and American steady. June 13. A Victorian wheat cargo has been sold at 34s 3d. Wheat has fallen Od per quarter.
