London, May 18. The grounds of the petition which will be presented to the Privy Coined in Deeming’s case arc the character of the medical evidence tendered at the trial in Melbourne and the affidavits taken by the condemned man’s brother and sister-in-law upon his sanity. Deeming’s petition will bo presented to the Privy (Jonncil on Wednesday and heard on Thursday. Two barn nets have been retained to appear in support. A copy of the petition lias men sent to Lord Knufcsford, and argues that a respite should bo granted to the condemned man. May 18. The Privy Council will first decide as to the right of appeal in Deetning’s case. Two eminent lawyers have been retained on behalf of the appellant. When Deeming’s case comes on Lord Sa’isbury will preside in the Privy Council, with a full Court, the House of Lords adjourning for the purpose. If an appeal is granted, the order for the respited will rest with the Colonial Office. Melbourne, May 18. The authorities have decided not to allow Deeming’s brain to be ex imb ed, audit will be buried with his body. Lord Hopetovm says he sees nothing to justify a delay in Deeming’s execution, but Mr Lyle is preparing a further petition. The gaol authorities have decided not to allow Mr Lyle to visit Deeming without special permission.
