The programme, which was considered by those present to be the best they had ever heard at Hilton, was brought to an end by the sehool children singing the Hew Zealand Anthem. On the motion of the chairman a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the ladies and gentlemen who had contributed to the success of the concert, and especially mentioning Mr George Meredith, who had not only lent his piano for the occassion, but had also delivered it at the schoolroom. A vote of thanks to the chairman and the singing of “ Auld Lang Syne” dispersed the audience, after which the room was cleared, and a very enjoyable dance was held till early yesterday morning.
